This definitely seems to be the weekend for outdoor theatre in and around Stratford-upon-Avon so pack up your picnic and rug and, most importantly, keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
Starting off with performances of 'Macbeth' on Saturday and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' on Sunday at The Dell, the RSC's oudoor stage on the river bank near Holy Trinity Church. At Hall's Croft you can catch a performance of 'As You Like It' in the beautiful gardens on Sunday. Also on Sunday, there is a musical performance of Robin Hood in the stunning gardens at Anne Hathaway's Cottage. There's even more outdoor theatre at Foundry Wood on Saturday afternoon with Mikron Theatre's family friendly performance of 'Raising Agents'. If you enjoy Foundry Wood on Saturday you could head back there on Sunday for pizza making in their outdoor pizza oven.
There's a double helping of the RSC's Stratford-on-Sea this weekend with a Pavement Art Workshop on both Saturday and Sunday when you can pop along and help to create a huge piece of art on the terrace outside the theatre. My children had great fun adding to the seaside picture last year and my top tip would be that you can get a great photo from the upstairs bar!
Rather head indoors? The Kids' Club Film at Stratford-upon-Avon Picturehouse this Saturday morning is 'Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole' (and I know there are lots of owl themed activities planned!), and they are also showing Inside Out and Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Escape Arts have Youth Radio on Saturday afternoon and a little later over at the Leisure Centre you can get your skates on at the Sk8house roller disco.
If you fancy something a bit different on Saturday you could try the Blues at Broomhill Americana & Roots music festival. This promises to be great entertainment for the whole family with plenty of food and drink as well as a fantastic music line-up.
Remember to have a look at my Countdown to Summer 2015 round-ups (Holiday Clubs, Every Day Activites, Annual Passes, Playparks, Fun For Free & When The Sun Isn't Shining) for plenty of ideas of things to do throughout the week.
Whatever you do I hope you have a great weekend.
