It's almost the the end of the summer holidays but there are plenty of ways to enjoy the last weekend of freedom in and around Stratford-upon-Avon.
In the final free concert at band stand in the Recreation Ground this summer you can listen to 'In Choir' on both Saturday and Sunday, take your picnic (and maybe a brolly!) along. The RSC's Stratford-on-Sea also closes for the summer this weekend, ending with Caravania! on Sunday. You'll need your imagination with you as you enter the micro-nation on Caravania where you can journey into space, visit the chemical loo which turns everything blue(!), design your own country and more besides...
If you've been out and about enjoying the countryside during the school holidays you might be interested in the Moreton-in-Marsh show where you can experience 'the countryside in a day' on Saturday. There's plenty for the whole family including livestock shows, motor cycle displays, dog shows, local food and much more. It might be the end of summer, but looking ahead to autumn why not join the hedgerow harvest walk along the Greenway on Sunday. Forage for fruits to try out your own recipes at home as well as sampling some hedgerow jam, sounds delicious.
Back in the town centre, the Kids' Club Film on Saturday morning at Picturehouse is Paddington (there will be suitcase crafts in the bar before the film!) and you can also catch Inside Out and Man from U.N.C.L.E. there. Escape Arts have Youth Radio on Saturday afternoon and there's the Sk8house rollerdisco at the leisure centre a bit later on Saturday.
Finally, after a break over the summer, Kids Run Free are back with their monthly running event for children in Bidford on Saturday morning, just make sure you leave enough time to negotiate the diversions in place because of the bridge repairs!
Remember to have a look at my Countdown to Summer 2015 round-ups (Holiday Clubs, Every Day Activites, Annual Passes, Playparks, Fun For Free & When The Sun Isn't Shining) for plenty of ideas of things to do throughout the week.
Whatever you do I hope you have a great weekend.
