Developed with the help of Speech and Language experts, the 'Sing and Sign' programme has taught tens of thousands of parents across the UK how to sign with their babies and encourage amazing early communication. Sing and Sign uses nursery rhymes, action songs and other musical activities to stimulate language development. Signs are taught that relate to the first words in a baby's world - nappies, bath time, bedtime, milk, tired, bye-bye for example.
There are three classes available:
- Sing and Sign Babies classes are for parents and babies from birth to around 6 months which prepares you for the Stage 1 class and builds the framework for communicating with your baby.
- Stage 1 classes are great for babies aged from around 6 months to 14 months old.
- Stage 2 classes are most appropriate for babies who have attended a least one term of stage 1, and who will be around 14mths+ at the start of term.
Babies are not expected to sit still, they are welcome to crawl/toddle within the circle of parents. At the first week's class you will receive by email the weekly handouts which recaps the topic of the week that has been taught in class. There is time after class for playtime for the babies and refreshments for the parents whilst they get to know each other.
Classes run in Leamington Spa, Wellesbourne, Warwick and Stratford. Please see the website for more details of venues.
